Ketika seri pertamanya dirilis pada tahun 2008 silam, mungkin sebagian orang memandang The Tarix Jabrix tak lebih dari sekedar sebuah usaha sebuah perusahaan rekaman untuk mempopulerkan salah satu kelompok musik yang berada di bawah naungannya. Namun, dengan jalan cerita drama komedi yang pas serta pengarahan Iqbal Rais (Senggol Bacok, 2010) yang cukup mumpuni, The Tarix Jabrix ternyata mampu tampil memikat hati banyak penonton film Indonesia sekaligus menempatkan nama The Changcuters ke jajaran kelompok musik populer di negeri ini.

Setelah sebuah sekuel yang kurang mampu mencapai keberhasilan secara kualitas maupun komersial ketika masa rilisnya di tahun 2009 lalu, kini Iqbal Rais kembali menghadirkan The Changcuters untuk membintangi seri ketiga dari The Tarix Jabrix. Untuk memberikan beberapa sudut pandang baru pada bagian penceritaan, naskah cerita The Tarix Jabrix 3 kali ini ditangani oleh Cassandra Massardi (Purple Love). Tidak tampak kecanggungan dari naskah cerita Cassandra dalam menggambarkan setiap karakter dari anggota The Tarix Jabrix. Cassandra juga meletakkan lebih banyak unsur action dan komedi dalam film ini yang cukup membantu kualitas The Tarix Jabrix 3 untuk tampil lebih unggul dari seri sebelumnya. Sayangnya, seperti yang dialami oleh beberapa naskah cerita yang ditulis oleh Cassandra Massardi sebelumnya, naskah cerita The Tarix Jabrix 3 juga memiliki cukup banyak lubang dan keganjilan yang membuatnya tidak sepenuhnya dapat dinikmati dengan baik.
Dalam The Tarix Jabrix 3, Cacing (Tria Changcut) yang saat ini bekerja di sebuah perusahaan asuransi, ditugaskan oleh pimpinan perusahaannya (Denny Chandra) untuk berangkat ke Bandung untuk bernegosiasi dengan musuh lama mereka, geng motor Road Devils, agar tidak membuat kerusuhan yang telah memakan banyak korban, dan tagihan klaim asuransi yang menumpuk. Dengan seluruh pembiayaan akan ditanggung oleh perusahaan, tentu saja Cacing kemudian membawa serta teman-teman dekatnya, Dadang (Erick Changcut), Mulder (Dipa Changcut), Ciko (Alda Changcut) dan Coki (Qibil Changcut), untuk menemaninya selama di Bandung. Tugas yang awalnya diperkirakan akan dapat diselesaikan dengan mudah, ternyata harus menemui banyak kendala yang menghambat.
Geng motor Road Devils sendiri saat ini telah dipimpin oleh sosok yang berbeda, seorang wanita cantik bernama Melly (Olivia Jensen). Namun, jangan biarkan paras cantiknya mengelabui Anda. Melly memiliki temperamen yang sangat keras dan dengan serta merta menolak permintaan The Tarix Jabrix agar Road Devils menghentikan segala perbuatan tak terpujinya kepada masyarakat Bandung. The Tarix Jabrix akhirnya menyatakan akan bertarung melawan Road Devils dengan taruhan bahwa kelompok yang kalah harus membubarkan diri untuk selamanya. Kedua pihak tersebut ternyata tidak menyadari bahwa di luar dua kelompok mereka, ada satu pihak yang merasa senang atas pertikaian yang sedang terjadi tersebut.
The Tarix Jabrix 3 awalnya dibuka dengan cukup komikal dan menyegarkan dengan guyonan-guyonan komedi yang dihantarkan oleh setiap karakternya. Sayangnya, hal tersebut tidak berlangsung lama. Setelah beberapa lama durasi film ini berjalan, kisah perjalanan dan petualaangan kelompok The Tarix Jabrix mulai terasa diisi dengan berbagai adegan dan bentuk guyonan yang telah seringkali digunakan oleh kelompok ini pada dua seri film The Tarix Jabrix sebelumnya. Bagi beberapa orang, hal ini mungkin saja akan amsih mampu memberikan hiburan tersendiri. Namun sepertinya akan lebih banyak yang merasa telah jenuh untuk menyaksikan formula sama yang terus-menerus diulang dan ditampilkan.
Pujian patut disematkan pada setiap anggota kelompok The Changcuters yang terlihat telah semakin nyaman untuk berakting dan beradegan konyol dalam sebuah film layar lebar. Walau beberapa kali masih terlihat kaku – yang lebih sering disebabkan karena gagalnya guyonan yang mereka hantarkan – namun secara keseluruhan, penampilan Tria, Erick, Dipa, Alda dan Qibil adalah cukup memuaskan. Seperti dua seri sebelumnya, The Tarix Jabrix 3 juga menampilkan dua aktris muda yang menjadi penyegar dan penghibur dalam jalan cerita film ini. Dalam seri ini, Olivia Jensen dan Kamidia Radisti adalah dua aktris tersebut. Peran yang diberikan pada Kamidia sendiri cukup terbatas sehingga wajaar saja jika Kamidia kurang begitu mampu menampilkan kemampuan akting yang mencolok. Namun, tidak begitu dengan Olivia Jensen. Penampilannya atas porsi peran yang cukup besar dapat dikatakan sangat memuaskan. Olivia terlihat begitu berbeda dari peran-peran yang pernah ia tampilkan sebelumnya dan semakin dewasa dalam kemampuan beraktingnya.
Selain Olivia dan Kamidia, The Tarix Jabrix 3 juga mendapatkan dukungan penampilan dari banyak aktor dan aktris pendukung seperti Eddie Brokoli, Joe P-Project, Denny Chandra, Candil, Barry Prima dan nama-nama lainnya yang harus diakui mampu menambah kedinamisan departemen akting di film ini. The Tarix Jabrix 3 juga memberikan pencapaian tersendiri dari sisi teknikal, dimana film ini mampu ditampilkan dalaam tingkatan gambar yang lebih jernih dan tajam jika dibandingkan dengan dua seri sebelumnya. Tata sinematografi dan musik The Tarix Jabrix 3 juga terjaga dengan cukup rapi dan tampil dalam kapasitas yang sama sekali tidak mengecewakan.
Sebuah pencapaian yang lebih baik dari sisi teknikal dan akting, The Tarix Jabrix 3 sayangnya masih belum mampu menunjukkan perkembangan yang berarti dalam sisi penyampaian naskah ceritanya. Beberapa guyonan yang disampaikan mungkin akan masih mampu memberikan hiburan, namun secara keseluruhan, guyonan-guyonan tersebut terasa gagal untuk memberikan hiburan yang lebih dari apa yang telah disajikan pada dua seri sebelumnya. Beberapa bagian cerita yang seperti ditujukan untuk membawakan pesan-pesan moral pada film ini juga ditampilkan secara berlebihan dan kurang menarik yang semakin menambah banyaknya catataan kelemahan susunan naskah cerita yang telah diisi oleh banyak lubang-lubang cerita di beberapa bagian. Sebuah peningkatan dari seri sebelumnya, namun The Tarix Jabrix 3 masih belum mampu mencapai titik keberhasilan yang telah dicapai oleh seri awal film ini.
